PETRETO

Belonging to the Fonseca's since 1871, today Petreto is managed by Alessandro Fonseca. "Petreto" originates from the predominately rocky nature of the soils. The soils present an abundant skeleton fraction due to degeneration of alberese calcareous rocks. This penological nature characterizes the farm soils, providing an abundant endowment of mineral elements, good drainage, and a generally very balanced structure.

Earthy pit fruit, black cherry, and currant characteristics are present in this dark, ruby hued Chianti. Elegant kirsch-like notes also emerge from this juicy, uncomplicated, savory, broad, flavorful vintage.
